our history

Joseph M. Simantoub founded Viewstone Capital in 2010. In its infancy, Viewstone purchased foreclosed homes and multifamily properties in California and Arizona from: Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, and the City of Los Angeles bulk portfolio.

In 2012, Simantoub strategically diversified Viewstone's portfolio, delving into developing single-family homes, revitalizing multifamily assets, and procuring high-density multifamily zoned land tactically situated near mass transit for new developments spanning from 15 to 120 apartments. Each meticulously repositioned and newly constructed multifamily site is designed to provide a spectrum of affordability options, catering to a diverse tenant demographic.

Viewstone also offers sophisticated consulting services tailored to meet the distinct needs of seasoned developers navigating the intricate landscape of the Los Angeles market.

Originally from Los Angeles, Mr. Simantoub graduated with a bachelor's degree in Real Estate Finance from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. He kicked off his career in 2003 as a multi-family broker at Marcus & Millichap, making a move in 2009 to leverage market distress. Outside the professional realm, Joseph enjoys being an avid equestrian and polo player.
